Every book has a short description at the beginning, so yu can choose better which one you want to read! Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 30 November 1900) was an Irish writer and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. Today he is remembered for his epigrams, plays and the circumstances of his imprisonment, followed by his early death. These are the books we have in our collection so you can enjoy reading: A House of Pomegranates: A House of Pomegranates is a collection of fairy tales, written by Oscar Wilde, that was published as a second collection for The Happy Prince and Other Tales (1888). Wilde once said that this collection was "intended neither for the British child nor the British public." The Canterville Ghost: This book is about an American family who moved to Canterville Chase, an old manor house which was haunted by the ghost of Lord Simon the Canterville. The ghost tried to frighten the family but they werent afraid of anything so the ghost failed every time. Only Virginia, Mr and Mrs Otis daughter, helped him. The Importance of Being Earnest: The Importance of Being Earnest is Oscar Wilde's most well-known and best loved play, as well as being an enormous success in his lifetime. For many people it is the apogee of the playwright's work. Like Wilde, the play is the very embodiment of fin de siecl British dandyism. The Nightingale and the Rose: An allegorical fable of love, sacrifice and selfishness. As with all of Wilde's short stories it embodies strong moral values and is told with an effervescence akin to that of the 1001 nights. The Picture of Dorian Gray: This sophisticated but crude novel is the story of man's eternal desire for perennial youth, of our vanity and frivolity, of the dangers of messing with the laws of life. Just like "Faust" and "The immortal" by Borges. Updated: Jul 12, 2012
